Abhishek Bhati, President

Abhishek Bhati is the President and CEO of PeopleTree Consulting, a consulting firm that partners with mission-driven nonprofits, foundations, and public agencies to strengthen their impact through research, strategy, and evidence-based planning.

He holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and brings over 15 years of experience working with nonprofits as a researcher, strategist, and external consultant. Abhishek’s expertise lies at the intersection of nonprofit strategy, civil society development, and public policy, with a particular focus on how organizations mobilize resources, engage communities, and navigate complex regulatory environments.

He has led needs assessments, strategic planning processes, and impact evaluations for foundations, nonprofit coalitions, and local governments. His work frequently centers on equity, aging populations, and the role of civil society in strengthening democratic resilience—both in the U.S. and globally.

A longtime advocate for public engagement and community-led development, Abhishek also serves as a city planning commissioner and trustee for a regional community foundation.
